I like Dr Vu and the other doctors a lot. The rest of the staff needs some coaching. Last week I called in to Woodmen to check to make sure they had received lab results and other results. The person I talked to said no. I proceeded to call the lab and other facility just to find out that both had sent your office my results. I wasted 45 minutes of my time doing their job calling these places which would have taken this person at your off 2-5 minutes if they would have looked a little harder. Today, I get to Woodmen for my appointment with Dr Vu, and they tell me the appointment is at the Academy location. I called the Woodmen location to make this appointment, and they failed to tell me that Dr Vu would be at a different location, wasting more of my time. Today, 1/6, I got a voicemail from someone saying my lab orders were ready to be picked up but they didn't mention which office they are in. That's useful information to leave in a voicemail. Today 1/6 I got to the SE location and my lab orders were not ready to be picked up like they said they were in a voicemail they left me this morning. I wasted over two hours waiting on getting them resolved and they weren't resolved by the end of the day.

Although I’d heard Dr. Vu was a very kind and likable doctor (which is true), I’d also heard rumors from the medical community that he had a poor reputation for running late for his appointments. Sadly, my assumption that “late” would mean 15 minutes, or at worst 30 minutes, was grossly incorrect. His business practice of double-booking appointments to increase volume and his consistently poor time management skills, which frequently results in appointments running an hour or more late, is patently unprofessional and shows a complete disregard and disrespect for his other patient’s time and other life commitments. As you would expect in any professional relationship, his practice requires and expects their clients to arrive early or at least on-time, but does not show the same mutual respect and courtesy to do the same with their scheduled appointment start time. Again, Dr. Vu is a very kind person, but a truly great provider has also been trained to prioritize, time manage and triage; these are skills that Dr. Vu has apparently and consciously decided are not important. Bottom line: for people that have alternative medical provider options available to them, Dr. Vu’s practice is not a good fit for professionals and active adults that cannot afford or are not willing to block off two hours for a 15-minute appointment.

Warning
I have been a patient of Dr. Richard Vu for over 7 years now. In the past 3 to 4 years, the service has greatly suffered, the growth and expansion of services. You can tell no one knows what is going on and or cares about how you are treated once you walk out the door. Also, if you have an apt plan on waiting over an hour from the time of your apt before you see anyone. They take you to your room over 20 to 30 to 45 minutes late. Then you sit there for another 30 or 40 minutes before you might see the Dr. you had the apt with. I have had labs go missing, MRI reports go missing, and when they say they will call you back with the information in the reports do not expect a call on any level. They simply do not care to do as they say or to follow up on anything no matter how important. Plan on having to baby sit your treatment by them 100% of the time. They have had major issues with turnover with staff. And cannot seem to keep anyone that is good at what they do. This is all sad to say because when I first started going to them before they grew it was great. Now it is the most unorganized, non-managed circus in town.

The staff is awesome! But Rachel who has made my appointments in the past couple of days has been wonderful. She takes her time and is so pleasant! I wish all Dr’s office had nice people like her. She is difantly an asset! Thank you Rachel!

I recently switched to Mathews Vu and can't say enough great things about them. Their doctors are always so patient at addressing my concerns and getting us in quickly. Prior to going there we had some errors from previous doctors that created confusion and Dr. Bong went out of her way to call previous doctors and specialist to get everything sorted out for me. They have called and checked in the next day after a Dr appt to make sure everything was ok. I think they are one of the few practices I have been to that don't rush you and truly do care.

Went to this office specifically for a rapid COVID test, when I arrived for the drive-up swab I was told I couldn't do rapid test. So then I had the test done and then received a call 72 hours later saying I had negative results, zero medical advice given on the phone. Then got charged over $200 for a COVID test and an additional $150 for a "doctors visit" with an additional $75 for above and beyond. I could have gone to the free drive up testing centers and had the same 72 hour turn time and ZERO medical advice. The front office should learn how to tell people services offered, if they don't do rapid tests or that they charge you a doctors visit for a swab. So I had to pay $350 vs the free drive up test for the EXACT same thing. WOULD NOT recommend this office. Seems like they just want to make money off of you.

Paperwork is lost or not sent to other providers. Billing is not correct even when you try to correct them to be sure they collect the right amount. It was a GREAT practice 5 years ago, even fantastic. It has been on a slow decline.

My son has seen a couple of their providers. I appreciate that they take a lot of time with you at every appointment. You never feel rushed, and you always feel well taken care of.
