We had the best time at this wine bar and retail shop. Steven, the owner spent quality time with us and we purchased some great bottles. Also had an amazing time with Lynn at the bar, tasting Spanish wines and a few addtl pours by the glass. Fantastic atmosphere.

We have been to The Wine Cellar a few times when we were in the area. Tonight we attended a wine tasting class for the wines of Tuscany. What a treat! We arrived early, mainly to have a bite to eat before the tasting. Not a whole lot of food available, so we shared a couple of sandwiches. Not great, but it hit the spot. They need more food selections!

The wine tasting event was first class all the way. A Winebow distributor presentation of wines from Tuscany. Very well presented, the wines presented were very good. The presenter offered extensive knowledge of the area and wineries included in the tasting. The Wine Cellar provided a nice space, somewhat small for the number in attendance. There was a cheese and charcuterie plate on each table. Really nice was the fact that the staff opened and poured the reds about one hour before the class started, giving the bold wines a change to open up a bit before the tasting started.

All in all a wonderful evening. The wines presented were all very good. The Wine Cellar has a first-class wine list, comprising some of the "best of the best" from around the world... and at reasonable prices too! Recommend The Wine Cellar for a glass, a bottle, or a wine tasting class!

This is not just a retail shop. This is not just a wine bar. This is the BEST combination of both. All prices are competitive with other retailers, but here you can open up the bottle of wine and drink with no restaurant upcharge, or you can buy wines by the glass.

There is a small amount of outdoor seating, bar seating, and various areas of small table seating. There is a limited food menu, perfect for sipping wine.

Each week there are special tastings, and a couple of times a month winemakers and wine experts come for educational classes.

The bar has a strong following of regulars. They (Okay, WE) are always looking to welcome NEW fans to the fold.

The owner (Steven) is knowledgeable about all kinds of wine, and if you don't see it on the shelf, he probably can get it for you anyway! He's happy to do custom orders at ANY price point.

If you haven't been and you're in the Lakeway area, you should go. If you're NOT in the Lakeway area it's worth the trip.

We had the best time at the Wine Cellar. We had a group of 14 stop in for a bachelorette/families meeting for the first time celebration. Everyone was so nice. We received great recommendations for some Prosecco and Rosé for our celebration. It was the perfect stop in between activities and to pick up extra bottles for the evening. The selection was great and so were the prices. I cannot wait to return for one of the tastings.

Truly a neighborhood gem. This is a wine lovers bar and shop. The staff is knowledgeable and will work with all styles of taste and levels of knowledge to help you choose a bottle or glass you'll love. There is a broad range of varietals, regions, and price levels to suit anyone. The quality and service are high and the prices competitive. And as an added bonus, it's just a really enjoyable place to sit and sip on wine and enjoy the afternoon or evening. Everyone I've met that frequents the Cellar has been incredibly friendly. Highly recommended!

It's not a wine store, exactly... It's not a wine bar, exactly...

It's a little bit of everything. This place is serious about their wine while having fun the whole time. There's a great room in the back for private events, plentiful seating at the bar out front...

and wine... lots and lots and lots of wine... from all over the world. From the very very expensive and hard to find French and California to the obscure and inexpensive value wines.

I love so much about this place! It's gorgeous, the people are nice, the wines are good. The tastings are TONS of fun. It is a true Lakeway gem and definitely worth the drive from Austin. Really, go just once and you'll see!

Great selections of wines that you can’t always find in stores. Steven Lester, the owner, is very knowledgeable and helpful. He ordered me wines that have limited releases you can’t find in stores.The wine tastings are very interesting and informative. Excellent wines for the tasting at a very inexpensive price. A true hidden gem.
